Sunderland For Transparency have caught up with recent PCC election candidate Georgina Hill about her recent election campaign.  Qualified barrister Hill, who ran on an anti-corruption campaign with her campaign slogan to "keep politics out of policing" was narrowly defeated by Labour candidate Kim Mcguinness.  With no candidate gaining more than the required 50% of votes the second preferences were then taken into account.  This second vote ended with Georgina Hill on 61,633 and McGuinness on 67,332.  Hill, who ran as an independent stated she intends to run again in 2020.
