SFT have recently been informed there will be a “larger than normal police presence” at the upcoming parliamentary election count this Thursday at the Silksworth Sports Complex. A source close to the Silksworth Sports Complex who wishes to remain anonymous told SFT via email “We are expecting a larger than normal Northumbria Police presence this time round due to how much local politics has heated up. Rumour has it the Police are even ferrying in extra officers from Durham Constabulary on the night in just case it kicks off following any shock results”.
An SFT spokesman stated “The SFT press team will be present on the night to watch the vote results come in. We are encouraged by the additional officers onsite and would like to remind people they should respect the vote result no matter what happens”.
