This guilty plea follows another guilty plea for similar offences by Sunderland Labour Councillor Paul Middleton in January 2019.
A Sunderland For Transparency Spokeswoman stated “This is a terrible case of yet another former Sunderland Labour Councillor exposed as a child sex predator. It is truly disgraceful to hear this man was once the Secretary of the Sunderland Labour Party too. SFT believes it is time to improve the vetting procedure to keep these people out of public office”.
